Have you visited the beautiful Gardens By The Bay in Singapore? I had been visiting and covering Gardens By The Bay in Singapore before she was officially opened, during her official opening and over the time Gardens By The Bay had grown and expanded in the subsequent phases such as the Children’s Garden and Sun Pavilion. Over the past few years, I had seen Gardens By The Bay expanding their events, activities and facilities to constantly attract more local and international visitors to Gardens By The Bay.

As much as I walked and explored a lot around Gardens By The Bay, in my birding photography adventure. There is still a part of Gardens By The Bay that I still haven’t explore and discover about. There is a big list of many different types of flora and fauna at Gardens By The Bay and I can never remember all of their names! On top of that, there are also more flora and fauna that I still haven’t explore yet! When you visit Gardens By The Bay, do you face a challenge to identify the plants, trees, flowers etc?

A New Bridge – A New Icon in Singapore

The growth and expansion of modern Singapore has been phenomenal and transforming, from a small country without natural resources to a modern cosmopolitan city today. Over the years, it had been constantly expanding, upgrading and innovating its infrastructure, services and businesses.

With the completion of the Marina Barrage, followed by the Marina Bay Sands, the transformation of the Marina Bay area is getting close to its new and beautiful landscape of Singapore’s Central Business District, with its greenery and reservoir, performance arts, leisure and recreation facilities co-existing together in a modern cosmopolitan city in the world.

A new bridge, known as the Helix Bridge, a new icon in Singapore’s landscape. Beautifully and uniquely designed, led by award-winning architect Prof Philip Cox, a consultant team, consisting COX Group Pte Ltd (Australia), ARUP Pte Ltd (Australia) and Architects 61 (Singapore). Looking at its design, it’s probably affectionately described as the Double Helix Bridge. Crossing this bridge bridge has its own unique experiences, capturing the stunning views of Marina Bay, Marina Square, Singapore’s Central Business District and connecting to Marina Bay Sands.

With beautiful lights on the Helix Bridge illuminating the Singapore skyline, it has slowly become an iconic monumental presence in modern Singapore. A photographer’s latest icon and location for landscape shooting in Singapore, tourists and locals both flocking over and enjoying the walkabout. More photographs of the Helix Bridge can be viewed in my Flickr folder.

Ladies and Gentlemen, do drop by and have a walkabout on the Helix Bridge and Marina Bay area !

NBA Madness 2008 Singapore – Marina Square

It was a normal internet surfing at the local photographers forum known as ClubSnap and I came across that NBA is coming to Singapore !

The event was known as NBA Madness 2008 and Singapore was one of its destinations, for NBA to showcase its sports to the other parts of the world. Actually, basketball here is very popular, nevertheless, it was a great tour and exhibition by NBA.
A great carnival, with games for the young and old, saw the NBA the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy, slam dunk, dribbling and shooting competition, NBA stars coming down guest appearance. I went down for a few hours and only caught the Orlando Magic Dance Team performing, beautiful ladies that lights up the carnival and part of the slam dunk competition and the dribbling, passing and shooting competition.
Didn’t stay longer than I would usually do, went out for afternoon coffee with Ray and Vik after that. Do check out some of my other photos here ! Hope you folks enjoyed the NBA Madness 2008 too !
Oh yeah , I am a LA Lakers Fan ! Remember “Show Time” by Magic Johnson ? 😉
