Happy New Year 2016 !

Happy New Year 2016 !!

I was at Marina Bay Singapore to photograph the New Year Eve 2016 Countdown fireworks to usher in and welcome the New Year 2016! Here is one photograph from the fireworks that I managed to shot last night and there were a lot of smoke that stagnated and remained still in the air while the fireworks were continuing to light and fire up into the Marina Bay skyline, thus many shots were engulfed in smoke!

I would also like to take this time to reflect on my photography and travel in the year 2015, it had been a very eventful and significant year, a newspaper feature on Straits Times, producing my first photo book, Hokkaido Black and White Landscapes and getting more involved in the area of heritage, history, conservation, preservation and arts. While I didn’t take as many photographs as previous years mainly due to heavy workload and partly due to choosing specific fields/subjects of photography to shoot, more personal than just mass shooting.

Travel for me in 2015 was just a trip to China for business trip visit to factories and industry exhibitions. I didn’t have a holiday leisure trip that I wanted and planned to do. That showed how busy I was with work matters in year 2015. I was hoping to capture more stunning Hokkaido landscapes again in 2015 but I had to push it back. I really need to plan my travel plans, to give me the time to relax and relive the stress and pressure from my work and society.

I might be a like a broken tape recorder, however, I have to say this again. I am very thankful, grateful and blessed with all my family, friends and supporters who accompanied me in my photography journeys over the years, with their opportunities, support, endorsements, blessings and well wishes.

Thank you, Thank you so much, I deeply appreciate it, from the bottom of my heart!

Onward towards a New Year 2016! A New Hope! Time to write new chapters in my photography journeys and adventures for Year 2016!

Happy New Year 2015 !!

Today marks the start of a brand new year, the year 2015!!

A New Hope, A New Start, A New Journey, A New Adventure … What does the Year 2015 holds for me in my field of photography and travel? What does the Year 2015 holds for you in your photography adventures?

First and foremost, let me reflect back on my photography adventures in the Year 2014. Through my 500px portfolio and Flickr photographs collections, I took a lot more photographs than my previous year, embarked on personal photography projects, camera reviews, travels and participated in (probably my biggest) photography and travel portfolio – Hokkaido Photographers Invitation Program. Overall, the Year 2014 was a very eventful and fulfilling year for my photography journeys.

What are my plans, goals and objectives for my photography in the Year 2015? On this first day of the Year 2015, I haven’t take personal and quiet time off to plan. Hopefully, I can take the time to plan and share with you my supporters and followers on my photography journey plans for the Year 2015.

I would like to take this time to say a Big Thank You to my family, relatives, close friends, supporters and followers for your continuous and heartwarming support for my photography journeys, adventures, stories and sharing! I wish you all the best for the Year 2015 and may the Year 2015 be like the bright and colourful fireworks from the  New Year Eve 2015 Countdown Fireworks held at the Marina Bay in Singapore!

New Year Eve Countdown Fireworks @ Marina Bay

The Marina Bay area in Singapore, was packed with lots of people, enjoying the festivities and celebrations around it, preparing to welcome and usher in the Year 2012 with a big bang of celebrations and fun at the Marina Bay, with the New Year Eve Countdown Fireworks being the highlight of the celebrations.

I dropped by the evening to have a feel of the atmosphere around the Marina Bay, walking from the Esplanade around 6pm, it was already starting to get packed with people with their cameras and picnic setup. The weather was great, beautiful clear blue sky and lovely sun, I waited patiently for the last sunset of 2011 and I wasn’t disappointed at all!

After capturing the last sunset of 2011, I waited for a while to capture the wishing spheres floating on Marina Bay to be lighted up, before going for my dinner and rest, waiting for reporting time at Singapore Flyer to capture the New Year Eve Countdown Fireworks! This was a special arrangement by Marina Bay Singapore division under Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and Singapore Flyer, who kindly made this very special arrangement for some of us photographers to capture the New Year Eve Countdown Fireworks from inside their capsule, a big Thank You to the organisations for giving us this wonderful opportunity! Do check out Marina Bay Singapore and Singapore Flyer for more information and exciting events!

Thanks you Singapore Flyer and Marina Bay Division of URA for this special arrangement.

Shooting fireworks from a rotating moving Singapore Flyer is very challenging and it was an awesome experience capturing the fireworks! The views of the New Year Eve Countdown Fireworks were simply awesome and breath-taking, gorgeous views of the Marina Bay and city skyline, accompanied by the beautiful fireworks lighting up the Marina Bay skyline!

Happy New Year ! Fireworks !

The Year 2011 has arrived with a bang ! Fireworks lighting up the Marina Bay skyline with beautiful and graceful fireworks display ! Thanks to Renhao, who was there early to get a good position at the Marina Bay Sands Events Plaza area. The crowds were quite packed with many people wanting to view the fireworks.

Since we were there early, we started  taking long exposure photographs of the Marina Bay with the floating wishing spheres illuminated by the different coloured spotlights from Esplanade. At 0000 hrs, the fireworks lighted up the skyline and we were happily snapping away, however, after approximately 3 minutes, the wind was blowing the smoke right into our direction and our view of the fireworks were slowly engulfed in smoke !! Moreover, they decided to bless us with lucky ashes from the fireworks too !!

Overall, we did manage to capture some nice and decent shots of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown Fireworks 2011 and had fun capturing the fireworks ! Do you want to learn fireworks photography tips ? Look no further ! Read it here !

Check out my “super smoked out” fireworks too !

Wishing all my readers Happy New Year 2011 !!
